With 30-plus years of combined experience, our team at PUIG Rehabiliation and Orthopedic Physical Therapy remains on the cutting edge of rehabilitation and ensuring you achieve optimal function and movement in your life. Our five therapist-owned, outpatient physical therapy clinics in the Rio Grande Valley specialize in personalized, hands-on orthopedic care.

At PUIG Rehabilitation and Orthopedic Physical Therapy, we offer traditional, hands-on physical therapy as well as specialized manual techniques for a variety of ailments and conditions. Our clinics in Mission, McAllen, and Harlingen include a broad array of evidence-based treatments that use proven techniques for the maximized benefit of the patient.

Our primary goal is to help you return to your prior level of pain-free function, prevent future injuries through patient education, and to help you achieve optimal movement and performance. We promote high quality, ethical, effective, and cost efficient practice by professional physical therapist graduates. We stimulate the field encouraging professional physical therapist graduated to further the science of physical therapy, to influence current and emerging health care practices and policies, and to advance the profession. Our clinics foster leadership qualities for physical therapy practice, education, and research to promote awareness and understanding of the needs of diverse populations in need. We provide a dynamic, efficient, adaptable environment for the maximized benefits of our patients.

Bertha Puig PT
  • Originally from Mission, TX
  • Graduated from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1969.
Robert Puig PT, DPT, COMT
  • Originally from Mission, TX
  • Attended St. Mary’s University for undergraduate education 1995-1999
  • Attended the Master’s program of Physical Therapy a the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio
  • Received Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2003 from Widener University in Chester, PA
  • Received Certification in Health Care Management from Widener University 2003
  • One of two graduated receiving Highest Clinical Honors through the Clinical Excellence Award 2003
  • Received Certification in Orthopedic Manual Therapy (COMT) of the spine form Texas Tech University
  • Extensive experience in orthopedics, acute care, cardiac rehab, neurological rehab, and pediatrics
Kevin Abers PT, ScD, COMT
  • Originally from Dallas, TX
  • Graduated from the masters in physical therapy program at the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio in 2001
  • Became Board Certified in Orthopedic Clinical Specialties in 2007
  • Received Certification in Orthopedic Manual Therapy (COMT) of the spine form Texas Tech University
  • Graduated form Texas Tech Health Science Center with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (ScD) in 2013
